Lore Report:
We found the stones in the troll’s cave.

They were dark, smooth, and piled beside the remains of something we chose not to identify. They looked like ordinary rocks, except ordinary rocks do not usually smell faintly of chocolate. We collected several handfuls for further study.

That is when the mountain woke.

It chased us through the night, splintering pines and hurling stone into the fjord. We did not stop until the first light came over the ridge. Behind us, the troll stood still as granite.

Before us sat the stolen treasure: chocolate stones with a crisp candy shell and a rich center worth every bruise.
